Volunteering Group

Amnesty International Australia is a proud People Powered movement founded on the work of volunteers and activists around the country. We’re passionate and dedicated individuals who refuse to stand by when human rights are at threat and who demand dignity, freedom, justice and equality for all. And unstoppable together.

Want to get involved? Here are some of our avenues!

Volunteering for small events

Volunteering for small events, such as manning stalls at fairs or attending rallies is a fantastic way to make a meaningful impact without making a big commitment. On the day, you can expect to help with things like setting up or closing down the stall, engaging with people and spreading awareness about a certain issue, collecting signatures or donations and/or walking with a placard. Please fill out the form on this page.

Getting involved with an action group
Action and thematic groups are at the heart of our People Powered Movement, and are integral in leading grassroots human rights campaigning in their communities. In these groups, you can be involved in things such as letter writing in solidarity, hosting events and movie screenings or meeting with local MPs. Professional volunteering

We sometimes offer professional volunteering opportunities (i.e. internships). If this is something you are interested in, please keep an eye out on our website - opportunities will be posted under the ‘work for us’ page directly.
