The 2026 Palm Sunday Walk for Peace and Justice for Refugees will take place on the Strand commencing from the Gregory Street Amphitheatre at 4pm. We will walk from the Amphitheatre along the footpath to Strand Park and then return to the Amphitheatre. On our return to the Amphitheatre there will be several speeches and some musical entertainment. The event will conclude before 5.30pm.

We know the best way of publicising the event is by word of mouth so we ask that you put the date in your calendar and invite your family and friends to join you. We have postcards that we can send you if this would be useful in getting the word out.

The Palm Sunday Walk for Peace and Justice for Refugees gives people the opportunity to show their concern for the plight of the many refugees in our world today. The Walk is a joint initiative of the Townsville Amnesty International Action Group and Townsville Multicultural Support Group (TMSG).
