2025 Palm Sunday Walk for Peace and Justice for Refugees

The 2025 Palm Sunday Walk for Peace and Justice for Refugees will take place on Sunday 13 April. We will meet at the Gregory Street Amphitheatre at 4pm then walk along the Strand footpath to Strand Park before returning to the Amphitheatre where there will be several short speeches from Walk participants and organisers.

The 1951 Refugee Convention defines a refugee as: “someone who is unable or unwilling to return to their country of origin owing to a well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion.” Some people can be forced from their homes and become refugees in their own country - 'internally displaced people' is the term used to describe people in this category.

Please join us on Sunday 13 April when we will be calling for peace and justice for all refugees and internally displaced people.
