Amnesty International in the Dandenongs

The Hills local group of Amnesty International was formed in 2006.  Since then we have collectively taken over 12, 000 actions on human rights – a great achievement that shows how people working together can achieve a lot.

Over the years we have held many events to raise money for Amnesty and to raise awareness of human rights in the community, including:

·      Film nights

·      Trivia nights

·      Guest speakers

·      Market stalls

·      Street processions

·      Candle-light vigils.

 

We usually meet on the first Monday of the month at the Watering Hole Tavern in Monbulk. The meeting starts at 8:00 pm, but many of us arrive earlier to enjoy a meal, write some action letters and have a hearty discussion on human rights beforehand.
