Fairer World Bazaar
The Fairer World Bazaar will bring the world to Leongatha in time for Christmas when it opens at Leongatha Uniting Church on Saturday October 24. A Fairer World Bazaar is a market where shoppers can buy real gifts and “alternative gifts” that make the world a better place.
The bazaar will bring the community products created from around the world as well as locally, with stalls selling products from Nepal, Tanzania and Zambia, First Nations Australian products and goods from local groups supporting refugee communities. Shoppers will find fair trade items, world crafts, art, jewellery, vintage clothing and festive items, along with face painting and refreshments, with local and worldwide organisations represented. Items bought at the bazaar will contribute to children, adults and families being able to live in safety, be removed from slavery, earn a living wage, have education and access to water and food, and be released from prison and discrimination.
