You are invited to join Amnesty International Australia to hand over our petition, Australia: No Weapons for War Crimes, on the lawns of Parliament House. Come and stand with us.
Over 120,000 people have signed to stop Australia arming Israel. We are carrying those signatures to Parliament and handing them over in person, in front of MPs and senators arriving for the sitting day.
We will also be supporting a group of health care workers from Perth who are bringing the Wall of Tears to Canberra: a memorial listing the names of children killed in Gaza, in the order they were killed. Our petition will stand beside those names.
When: Monday 14 September 2026, 11am. Arrive by 10:15am for the briefing. We will start at 11am with speakers and photos, and wrap up before midday.
Where: Meet on the lawns in front of the main entrance, Parliament House, Canberra. Look for the Amnesty banner.
Bring: warm layers, water and comfortable shoes.
This is a peaceful action. Come and support it in anyway that you can, whether that is carrying a box, holding a sign, or simply standing in solidarity.
We will send you the run sheet and everything you need to know closer to the day. If travel is a barrier, let me know in an email (ashra.anver@amnesty.org.au) and we will see what we can do.
