This is an Amnesty local action group for those in the Newcastle, Hunter and Central Coast regions.

We work on a wide range of human rights issues including: Refugee Rights, Indigenous Rights, Climate Justice and a Human Rights Act for Australia.

We meet monthly by Zoom (currently the 1st Tuesday of the month from 6pm to 7pm) to share the latest information on issues and campaigns relating to human rights, identify the priority actions for that month, lend our support to campaigns, and plan our own events.

We sign petitions, write letters, meet with MPs, run events, and work with schools on human rights education and activism.
