Kite Flying event for Palestine and fundraiser
Darwin Amnesty is running a stall at this community kite flying and picnic event. Amnesty International declared in December 2024 that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. The theme of the afternoon is "let the children play", in the spirit of the children of Gaza, and their right to a safe space. Recently kites and balloons were added to being legitimate military targets, along with Gaza's countless schools, hospitals, homes, places of worship, families and lives destroyed over the past 3 years. The event will raise funds for Gaza Great Minds, a charity set up to help rebuild Gaza's schools; and PANZMA, a non-profit supplying medical relief by Australians and New Zealanders to Palestinians in need. In addition to the kite flying and Amnesty's stall, there will be yummy Arabic food, kids' activities, henna tattoos, face painting, speakers and music. Everyone in Amnesty's network is warmly invited to come along and join us in this family friendly afternoon by the sea. We'd love to see you there.
