Join us in supporting the uncles, showing solidarity with them and the challenge of climate change / need for government action in general.
Uncle Pabai and Uncle Paul are community leaders from the Guda Maluyligal Nation in Zenadth Kes (the Torres Strait) fighting to save their home from the impacts of climate change. They have bravely taken their case to the full Federal Court, calling on the Australian Government to act on its duty to protect Torres Strait Islanders from the harms of climate change and the destruction of their home.
When / Where:28th July outside the Federal Court (near Flagstaff Station), Naarm.
7:45am arrival for an 8am start for smoking ceremony, into speeches, before we find out when the case will be heard. We are also invited to sit in on the hearing, and to enter the court alongside the uncles/lawyers
